Renowned filmmaker Kavi Raz reveals release date for his upcoming film, “Sarabha: The Cry For Freedom,” on his official Facebook page. The movie delves into the inspiring story of Kartar Singh Sarabha, a valiant freedom fighter associated with the Ghadar movement. The film’s shooting commenced back in 2019, with Jobanpreet Singh, who plays a crucial role in the movie, beginning his sequences.
Examining the historical context, the Ghadar Party, in India’s struggle for independence, erupted with indignation when Indian immigrants returning home were met with violence and arrests by the British authorities. Outraged by these incidents, the party declared war, establishing an armed rebellion against British imperialism. Unfortunately, the movement was eventually suppressed.
Director Kavi Raz, known for his notable work on the film “Black Prince,” is now set to release his latest venture, “Sarabha: The Cry For Freedom.” This biographical film sheds light on the life and contributions of Kartar Singh Sarabha, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight for his country’s liberation. Kartar Singh Sarabha was an Indian revolutionary. He was 15-years old when he became a member of Ghadar Party – international political movement founded by expatriate Indians on 15 July 1913 to overthrow British rule in India.; Kartar Singh then became a leading luminary member and started fighting for the independence movement. He was one of the most active members of the movement. Born: 24 May 1896, Ludhiana, India and Died: 16 November 1915, Lahore, Pakistan. In November 1915 at Central Jail, Lahore, he was executed for his role in the movement when he was 19 years old.
Japtej Singh plays the role of Kartar Singh Sarabha, playing the younger Milkha Singh in the film ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.
